Os piores países para crimes ligados aos animais selvagens (RANKING)

O Vietname é o pior País para os crimes ligados aos animais selvagens, segundo um relatório da ONG WWF, o primeiro que é realizado sobre o tema e que inclui a forma como 43 países de Ásia e África estão a proteger animais como os rinocerontes, elefantes e tigres.

De acordo com a WWF, o Vietname surge na liderança deste ranking devido às quintas de tigres e apetite voraz da população pelos cornos de rinoceronte, que são percepcionados como curadores de doenças.

O relatório explica que a decisão do Governo vietnamita, em 2007, de legalizar as quintas de tigres colocou em risco os planos do País de controlar o comércio ilegal de produtos de tigre.

O Vietname é ainda o principal destino dos cornos de rinoceronte ilegalmente caçados na África do Sul – só no ano passado, 448 rinocerontes foram mortos, neste País, para esse propósito.

O ranking coloca a China e Laos na segunda e terceira posições, devido ao mercado ilegal de produtos de vida selvagem. Este mercado valerá, só no sudoeste asiático, entre €6,5 (R$16,1) e 8,2 mil milhões (R$20,2 mil milhões).
